We post this with heavy hearts today…Des Moines has lost one of it’s favorite sons…our dear friend Alex Brown has passed on. As always news like this is a shock to say the least.
Al always brought that added element of high brow intellect that would leave most people scratching their heads but I thought he was one of the funniest dudes ever and one of my favorite people on earth.
Every trip back to Des Moines for the past 20 years I’ve always looked forward to our late night conversations 2 hours after the Fu shut down still hanging out in the bar (sorry Jeff!), forcing him to wake up and go to the Waveland the next morning at a cruel hour, and of course making him DJ even though we’d get too rowdy….beer would be flying all over his kit…he’d get sooooo pissed…sorry again buddy.
My eyes are filling with tears writing this…we lost a truly amazing cohort in crime… I’ve always told myself to cherish every moment because even then…it won’t be enough.
To my pal Al Brown…the world is a lesser place without you in it…love you brother.
